How to apply

not recordedUntil this is known we cannot tell you when to start — uni-assist adds four to six weeks to the chain and applying direct does not.

Can you apply?

Add your degree, its length and your test scores once, and every programme will tell you whether you can actually apply — and name the gate if not. Fill in your profile.

What it costs

Tuition (non-EU)

Semesterbeitrag

340 EUR per semester

source

“Currently, students pay approx. 340 EUR per semester (i.e. for six months). This includes a ticket for public transport and regional trains in all of Germany ("Deutschlandticket"). Additionally, students can use a bike rental service all over the city for free for 30 minutes. The contribution also assures concessions in the university cafeterias and offers benefits (e.g. price reductions) for many cultural and leisure activities in Dresden.” www2.daad.de

Application fee

75 EUR for the first application, then 30 each

Charged per semester and non-refundable regardless of the outcome. Ten programmes would be 345 EUR.

Tuition-free does not mean free: the Semesterbeitrag is payable every semester even where tuition is €0, and it moves on the calendar year because the transit ticket does.

Deadlines

not recorded check the source

15 July and 15 January are conventions, not facts — uni-assist’s own wording is oft am 15. Juli, and it warns that institutions increasingly set earlier dates. Where a programme uses uni-assist, its deadline runs earlier still. Always confirm on the institution’s page.
